Red River in Fargo now expected to crest at 35.5 feet on Saturday
FARGO - The incredible shrinking Red River crest forecast just got smaller.
The National Weather Service now expects the Red River to crest in Fargo at about 35.5 feet about 7 a.m. Saturday.
That level is about a foot and a half lower than the forecast that was in place Tuesday and it is based on the fact the Weather Ser-vice does not expect sig-nificant precipitation in the next 24 hours, said Pete Speicher a Weather Service meteorologist in Grand Forks, N.D.
