Remmen receives scholarship

Grant Remmen will be attending the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities) - Institute of Technology this fall, and has been accepted into the University's Honors Program.

Grant was awarded several competitive scholarships by the University for leadership and outstanding academic achievements. He has received the U of M's most prestigious scholarship, the Maroon and Gold Leadership Award, a $48,000 scholarship. Grant has also been awarded the U of M Bentson Family Scholarship of $20,000 and the U of M 3M Alumni Scholarship of $12,000.

In addition, as a National Merit Scholar, Grant will be receiving a U of M National Merit Award of $8,000. He has also been awarded the University Institute of Technology Undergraduate Research Scholarship ($2,500) and a separate U of M Undergraduate Research Scholarship ($1,700).

Grant plans to major in astrophysics and mathematics. A 2008 graduate of Detroit Lakes High School, Grant is the son of Larry and Kellie Remmen.
