Reward for arrest of hit-and-run driver up to $3,100
FARGO - The reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver who ran over 25-year-old Justin Bohmer in south Fargo on Wednesday is up to $3,100, his father said.
Dan Bohmer said Newman Signs also will advertise the reward on five digital billboards in the Fargo area. Russ Newman and his father, Harold Newman, have each contributed $1,000 to the reward, he said.
Dan Bohmer has set up a reward fund at Gate City Bank. Contributions may be dropped off at any Gate City location and should be made out to the "Justin Reward Fund," he said.
A passer-by spotted Justin Bohmer lying on the street and bleeding from the head in the 1200 block of Eighth Street South at 4:43 a.m. Wednesday.
Police believe he was struck by a vehicle and run over, although it's also possible he could have rolled over the vehicle's hood and windshield, Sgt. Mark Lykken said.
Police have no witnesses or vehicle description to release, he said.
Justin Bohmer remains sedated in serious condition at MeritCare Hospital. He suffered injuries to his head, neck and arm, as well as lacerations and contusions across his body and head, his father said.
