Richard G. Wah, 75, of Frazee, died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at his home, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, May 18 at David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, with Deacon Jim Thomas, officiating.
Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
Richard Gordon Wah was born to Hum and Rachel (Allen) Wah on October 2, 1937 in Minneapolis. He was raised and educated in Minneapolis.
Richard was united in marriage to Janet Gaynor November 4, 1968 in Watertown, S.D. They made their home in Minneapolis, where Dick was a bartender for the Anchor Inn and a machinist for Team Industries. They moved to the Detroit Lakes area in 1984 and into Frazee in 1999.
Dick enjoyed hunting, was an avid gun collector and loved western movies.
Survivors include six children: Tony Murray of Minneapolis, Rachelle Wein of Indianapolis, Ind., Kathleen (John) Fitch of Apple Valley, Minn., Dean Bertek of Frazee, Cynthia Bertek-Lubitz of Middleburg, Fla., and Jeff Bertek of Detroit Lakes; 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; a brother, John (Beverly) Wah of Buffalo, N.Y.; and a sister, Mae Billingsly of Portland, Maine.
In addition to his wife, Janet, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas and two brothers, Robert and Jim.
