Road closures ahead: Roosevelt Avenue, McKinley Avenue close briefly
Work on the $32.5 million reconstruction project to improve safety and mobility along the Highway 10 corridor resumed Monday, April 14.
Crews are working on completing the new Highway 10 grade in preparation for concrete paving. Paving is scheduled for mid-May, beginning on the east end of the project.
In an effort to promote safety in the work zone, bicyclists and pedestrians are restricted from Highway 10 around the lake during construction. Please use Roosevelt Avenue to Randolph Road as a detour route.
Motorists can expect a temporary road closure to allow crews to pour the bridge deck on Thursday, May 1. This will take place after morning rush hour and prior to the end of the school day.
McKinley Avenue at Holmes Street will be closed on Tuesday, April 29, to traffic. This area is normally used only for deliveries, so the closure should not impact the traveling public.
Crews are working on sewer and water and storm sewer installation.
Grading work will continue through this week.
The next Highway 10 project update/public meeting for this construction season will be held Monday, May 12, beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the Detroit Lakes City Hall.
