Robert "Bob" J. Perszyk, 59, of Perham, was surrounded by his family at home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley when God took him home on Wednesday, March 31, 2010.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 4 at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, with a 7 p.m. prayer service; it will continue at the funeral home for one hour prior to Monday's services at the church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 5 in St. Henry's Catholic Church, Perham, with Father Joe Herzing officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Perham.
Bob was born to Bernard and Eleanor (Widmer) Perszyk on November 3, 1950, in Perham. He graduated from Perham High School in 1968 and was a lifelong resident of Perham. Bob was united in marriage to R. Susan Kyte on August 26, 1972, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Perham.
He was employed by Tuffy's Pet Foods for 41 years and was an active member of MDHA, Delta Waterfowl, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever and his church.
Bob will be remembered for his great sense of humor and love of the outdoors and hunting. He was a very generous person. Over the years he gave away many guns to family and friends. He enjoyed teaching many young hunters how to shoot and his buttons "popped with pride" when he heard their hunting success stories.
Bob truly enjoyed hunting and fishing with his nieces and nephews; he loved them all dearly. He was an example of grace and courage in fighting his battle with cancer. Bob was loved and will be missed by many.
