Ronald "Levi" Edward Molacek, 70, of Detroit Lakes, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Ecumen-Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes.
A memorial service is set for 11 a.m. Monday, May 20 at Wright Funeral Home, Lake Park, with a memorial for one hour prior to services.
Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Ronald was born to Lyla (Johnson) and Ed-ward Molacek on May 2, 1943 in Detroit Lakes. He grew up and attended school in the Lake Park area.
Ron joined the Nation-al Guard in 1962 and served his country for six years. Ron met and mar-ried Diane Knutson on November 24, 1964 and they lived in Audubon until 1976, when they moved to Blanchard, N.D. They raised their three sons in Blanchard, later moving back to the De-troit Lakes area.
Ron enjoyed classic cars, fishing, farming and pheasant hunting. He also enjoyed spending time tinkering on projects with his boys while they were growing up, and more recently, cherished the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren, watching them grow.
Ron is survived by his best friend, Diane Knut-son, Detroit Lakes; sons Joe (Tina) Molacek, De-troit Lakes, Ted (Holly) Molacek, Lake Park and Corey Molacek, Detroit Lakes; five grandchil-dren, Paige, Tyler, Na-talie, Jayden and Sadie; one great granddaughter, Daviny; two brothers, Richard (Nancy) Molacek, Detroit Lakes and Robert Molacek, Rochert; two sisters, Ruth (Ole) Boland, Walcott, N.D., and Rita Foltz, Detroit Lakes.
Ron is also survived by several nieces, neph-ews and close friends.
Preceding Ron in death were his parents; sister Renae Sim; and one brother-in-law, Morris Foltz.
