Ruby Sandberg

Ruby Sandberg, 91, died Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Monday, July 26, 2010 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, with visitation one hour before the funeral.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 27 in Upsala Cemetery, near Detroit Lakes.

Ruby Kathleen Schram was born the daughter of Jeremiah and Anna Amanda (Rudolph) Schram on March 7, 1919 in Otter Tail County, in a log house near Vergas. She was from a family of 11 children.

Ruby was united in marriage to Elworth Johnston Sandberg, May 11, 1938 in a Lutheran church in Detroit Lakes. The couple made their home in Detroit Lakes for about one year, before moving to Crookston, where they lived until 1977. Elworth died in 1993. Ruby moved to Riverside Terrace Apartments in Thief River Falls in 1997.

Surviving Ruby are her children, Robert (Jane) Sandberg of Crookston, Diane (Glenn) Lucas of Enid, Miss., Michael Sandberg of California and Jennifer Reigstad of Newfolden, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and brother Robert Schram of Detroit Lakes.

Preceding her in death were husband, Elworth; one daughter, Kathleen Isaac; her parents; granddaughter Erica Olson; three sons-in-law, Ronald Isaac, Dennis Maurstad and Arnold Reigstad; nine siblings, Ann, Florence Anderson, Floyd Schram, Isabelle Green, Ed Schram, Clare Schram, Lawrence Schram, Peggy and Lila Robertson.
