Run, Ride & Boogie cancer fund-raiser is Aug. 16 in Cormorant
The second annual Angels of Courage Retreats fund-raiser, Run, Ride & Boogie, is Saturday, Aug. 16, in Cormorant.
Events for the day include a 5K run/walk at 10 a.m., followed by a motorcycle rally at noon and dinner from 6 to 8 p.m., silent auction from 6 to 9 p.m. and a dance from 8 p.m. to midnight. Music will be provided by Betty Does.
The 5K run/walk includes stretches of pavement and gravel as it winds through lakes country. It begins at the Cormorant Community center. The race only is $15 and includes a T-shirt, , and for the race, dinner and dance is $35 per adult and $20 for children 12 and under.
The motorcycle run begins at noon and ends around 5 p.m. at the Cormorant Community Center, with various stops in the lakes area for door prizes. The ride is $15 and includes a T-shirt for the first 100 entrants. For the ride, dinner and dance, it is $35 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under.
The dinner features Elmer's Authentic Texas BBQ beginning at 6 p.m. in the Cormorant Community Center. Cost for the dinner and dance s $25 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. For just the dance, it is $10 for adults and children.
Money raised at the fund-raiser will go toward upcoming retreats including an adult cancer survivor's retreat on Sept. 26-28 at Fair Hills Resort. There will also be a women with MS retreat Oct. 17-19 at Maplelag Resort.
