Rural Lake Park boy wounded while duck hunting
A 14-year-old duck hunter was injured Sunday when his shotgun accidentally discharged, severing the very tip of one toe.
Clay Michael Anderson, 14, of rural Lake Park, was hunting with his father and several others in a stubble field north of Audubon.
He was lying on his back in an individual blind, ready to close the flaps on his ground blind -- or basically cover himself with camouflage material -- when the shotgun, which was parallel to his body, accidentally discharged.
He was taken to the Essentia St. Mary's Hospital in Detroit Lakes with non-life threatening injuries.
The accident was reported around 2:45 p.m. Sunday.
