By participating in or donating to this event, you will help raise funds for the world's premier pediatric cancer research center. These funds will help St. Jude in its ongoing fight against childhood cancer and other catastrophic diseases.

Participants collect pledges or donations, and these may be turned in at the Trail ride or up to one week after the ride. All participants raising money receive a lapel pin. Other prizes include a T-shirt, backpack, sweatshirt and cap. Raise $175 or more and receive all of the prizes.

There will also be a prize for the party turning in the most money and a door prize given to a participant at the ride. Everyone is welcome. You may turn in donations without attending the ride.

"Our goal in holding this event is to help the children of the world who are stricken with diseases like cancer, AIDS, sickle cell disease and other catastrophic illnesses," said Carol Taggart, coordinator of the event. "St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is a world leader in the fight against these diseases, and has made great progress because of the help of people who participate in events like Saddle Up for St. Jude."

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Founded by the late entertainer Danny Thomas and based in Memphis, Tenn., St. Jude freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities around the world.

No family ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay. St. Jude is financially supported by ALSAC, its fund-raising organization, through events such as the Saddle Up for St. Jude program.
