For more than a decade, Sara Evans has proved to be one of country's most consistent and popular artists by acquiring numerous chart-topping hits and by garnering major awards, including the Academy of Country Music's Top Female Vocalist honor in 2006 and the Country Music Association's Video of the Year prize for "Born to Fly." She's also been named one of People magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People."

Sara Evans was born on Feb. 5, 1971, and grew up poor in rural Missouri. She began singing and performing with her family's band at just four years old. When she was 16, she began performing at a nightclub near Columbia, Missouri, a gig that lasted two years. In 1991, Evans decided to move to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue her music career.

A few years later, in 1997, Evans signed her first major recording contract with RCA, where she released her debut album titled, "Three Chords and the Truth." She followed up with "No Place That Far (1998)," "Born to Fly (2000)," "Restless (2003)," "Real Fine Place (2005)," and "Stronger (2011)."

Some of Evans' hit singles include "No Place That Far," "Born to Fly," "Suds in the Bucket," "I Could Not Ask For More," "A Real Fine Place to Start," "As If," "Perfect," "Cheatin'," "I Keep Looking," and "My Heart Can't Tell You No."

Evans is not only a singer and songwriter, but also the author of three books titled, "The Sweet By and By," "Softly and Tenderly," and "Love Lifted Me," all published by Thomas Nelson, Inc.
