Sebeka man tased, charged with three crimes
WADENA -- According to a court complaint, David Arnold Severson, 41, allegedly threatened to beat up a man in a wheelchair and also choked a 15-year-old boy between 1 a.m. and 5:10 a.m. on Nov. 10, when sheriff's deputies were called.
When the officers arrived at the Sebeka residence, the defendant was inside a camper on the property, and the deputies used their PA systems to tell him to come out, and also sounded sirens and horns to try to get him to come out voluntarily. Finally, they entered the camper with the owner's permission and tried to extract Severson, who allegedly was uncooperative and was eventually tased.
The two witnesses at the scene said Severson had come out of the camper and entered the house without permission, court records said. He allegedly put the boy in a headlock, and later got in the homeowner's pickup and drove it around the yard. The witnesses said Severson was drunk.
Severson was charged Nov. 10 with terroristic threats, theft -- take/drive motor vehicle with no owner consent and fifth-degree assault. His first appearance was set for Dec. 8 in Wadena County District Court.
