You can save hundreds of dollars with your library card by borrowing not buying. Use your card often and save money on books, digital downloads, magazines, newspapers, genealogy resources, DVDs, children's books and programs, Internet access and more, simply by visiting your local LARL branch library or LINK site! A library card is the smartest card you can own. Just show it and save.

Registering for a library card is easy - and it's free! Just provide proof of your address within the LARL region. Your library card is accepted at all LARL branch libraries, LINK sites and online at www.larl.org, as well as at other regional public library systems in Minnesota.

In a unique campaign to reach young library customers, LARL staff will strive to reach every first grader within the LARL region to make sure they have a library card. LARL staff will visit first grade classrooms in September to urge young students to sign-up for a free library card. Each first grader will receive a ruler that states, "Reading helps you measure up!" to encourage them to read and use their library throughout the year.
