Several Raiders finish with personal bests at Barnesville Booster meet
Several Lake Park-Audubon track and field athletes placed or recorded personal best performances at the Barnesville Booster meet Tuesday in Barnesville.
For the girls, senior Breann Hogie took third place in the 800 meters with a personal best time of 2:38.97; senior Rebecca Schermer finished 9th with a time of 2:52.0.
Schermer also took third place in the high jump by leaping for a height of 4-08.
Senior Bailee Bartunek finished the 200 meter dash in fifth place with a time of 29.74; junior Brittanie Schafer finished in 25th place with a time of 34.39.
Bartunek also recorded a personal best in the shot put with a throw of 29-09, which put her in eighth place. Sophomore Madeline Grossman finished in 21st place with a throw of 21-08, just ahead of teammate Schafer in 22nd with a throw of 21-06.
The 4x400 foursome of Bartunek, Hogie, Grossman and Schermer finished in fifth place with a personal best time of 4:44.03.
On the boys’ side, junior Tory Haglund had the Raiders’ best showing with a second place finish in the 400 meters, recording a personal best time of 53.56. He came in just ahead of junior teammate Roman Frederick, who finished with a time of 53.56 — also a personal best.
Haglund also finished third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.90, and came in seventh in the 100 meters with a time of 12.35.
LP-A senior Chance Kostreba finished fifth in the 3,200 meter run with a time of 11:57.28, which was his personal best as well.
The Raider foursome of Taylor Briard, Paul Jenson, Mitch Zerr and Justin Hanson took third place in the 4x100 relay with a personal best time of 48.30, while the 4x400 quartet of Jenson, Shane Toutges, Tyler Charboneau and Jonah Lange finished in sixth with a time of 4:04.04 (personal best.
The 4x800 Raider relay of Kostreba, Lang, Charboneau and Toutges took fifth place with a time of 9:48.82, which was also a personal best finish for the foursome.
