Shoplifting "big reason" for NDSU basketball players suspension

FARGO -- Shoplifting was a "big reason" Dejuan Flowers was suspended indefinitely from North Dakota State's men's basketball team.

Sgt. Mark Lykken of the Fargo Police Department said Thursday Ebony Dejuan Flowers was arrested for shoplifting Dec. 28 at Scheel's All Sports in Fargo. NDSU head coach Saul Phillips confirmed that the arrest was a big reason he decided to suspend Flowers on Wednesday.

"There were other factors but that played a big part of the decision-making process," Phillips said.

Flowers, a 6-foot-7 senior from Shakopee, Minn., averaged nearly 7 points and 6 rebounds for the Bison.
