Singing Saints to perform at Beautiful Savior in Callaway
Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Callaway, invites the public to a special choir concert on Saturday, March 23, at 7 p.m.
The Singing Saints, the concert choir of Saint Paul Lutheran High of Concordia, Missouri, will present a concert of sacred music. The Singing Saints is made up of 52 students under the direction of William Gasau.
Director Gasau announced that the concert will include vocal selections by classical and contemporary composer. Instrumental accompaniment will be for several selections. While there is no charge for admission, an offering will be gathered. The public is cordially invited to attend.
The Singing Saints appearance at Beautiful Savior Lutheran of Callaway is part of the 2013 concert season, which includes a total of 20 concerts in Missouri, Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska and Kansas.
This award-winning choir has toured annually since 1973, with over 1,000 appearances in 29 states and Canada. In 1994 and 2006, they performed as a part of a mass choir in Carnegie Hall, New York. A return concert in Carnegie Hall is scheduled for May 27.
They have been selected for performances at the state music teacher’s convention (MMEA) in 1986, 1989, 1993 and 1997, and have consistently received an “I” rating at State Music Contests since 1971.
Saint Paul Lutheran High is a 4-year high school of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Many students attending the school are preparing for full-time work in the Lutheran Church as pastors, teachers, deaconesses, social workers or youth leaders.
