Sinner takes home Forever Family scholarship
Breanna Sinner is the winner of the Miss Northwest portion of the Families Forever scholarship.
Sinner is the daughter of Jerry and Clare Sinner. She is enrolled at the University of Minnesota Duluth pursuing a degree in communication sciences and disorder.
The Families Forever scholarship is given to the Miss Northwest contestant who best describes in an essay what her family, community and church have meant to her up to this point in her life and how that will support her in the coming years. This year's scholarship was underwritten by Doug Ballard of Lake Park.
The scholarship is given in memory of Mary Disse Ballard who passed away two years ago from cancer.
The Garden Tour and quilt show is the fund-raising arm of the scholarship and will be held this year in Lake Park on Aug. 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. People who have quilts they'd like to show and have a chance to win prizes can call 218-238-5236 or 218-234-1766 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for deadlines and details. Visit www.GardenQuiltShowandTea.com for more information.
The public is invited to attend. There will be door prizes, garden tour, quilts to preview and vote on and a tea will be served.
