Slow starts hinder Lakers in two losses
The Detroit Lakes girls' hockey team has been inflicted with slow starts in their last two games, resulting in a pair of losses to drop to 0-5 on the season.
Sartell/Sauk Rapids and Moorhead each started with four goals in the first period to start the Lakers off with big deficits going into the final two periods.
Those quick starts led to an 8-1 win by the Spuds in Moorhead Tuesday and a 6-1 victory Saturday inside Kent Freeman Arena Saturday by Sartell.
