Snow plow operators plan to clear roads early Tuesday as motorists urged to use caution
An updated travel alert in North Dakota was issued late Monday by the state's Transportation Department due to expected poor weather conditions.
Rain in western North Dakota is expected to change to snow as temperatures drop.
Snow accumulation could be heavy at times, which could produce snow-covered roads and reduced visibility, according to a news release issued by the North Dakota Department of Transportation.
Eastern North Dakota is expected to receive rain and freezing rain, causing icy road conditions.
The Transportation Department urges motorists to be alert to changing weather and driving conditions.
Snow plow operators plan to work until early this evening and resume road-clearing duties early Tuesday, the news release said.
