Souris dropping in Minot

MINOT - The Souris River appears to have crested here at a slightly lower elevation than the National Weather Service projected.

The highest reading at the gauge by the Broadway bridge was 1,561.72 above sea level at 11:00 p.m. Saturday, and fluctuated down and back up to that level until 2 a.m., when it started dropping.

The crest was expected to be 1,561.8 at 1 a.m. Days earlier, the projected crest was 1,564.5.

As of 8:30 a.m. Sunday, it was at 1,561.67.
