Special history class starts Wednesday in New York Mills
In Britain and Brittany, over 900 circles and other monuments employing standing stones were constructed in pre-Celtic times, from 3500 to 1500 B.C.E.
John Hitchcock has visited dozens of these sites from Carnac and Cornwall to the Outer Hebrides and Orkney, and will share photos as well as knowledge of what has been learned about them and their builders, in a four-part classroom series at the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center.
Starting on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. and continuing over the next three successive Wednesdays, this special class on “The Mysteries of Standing Stones” costs $20 per person to participate. Call 218-385-3339 for more information.
