Spring Arts Festival is today at Frazee Schools

The Frazee Schools are opening their doors today and tomorrow for the 2010-11 Spring Arts Festival, April 14-15 in the main gym at Frazee High School.

The event begins today (Thursday) from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the Visual Art Gallery and choir and band performances. The Visual Art Gallery will also be open Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. There is no charge to attend.

The Frazee Spring Arts Festival is an annual event showing the public the original visual art works created by students within the last school year.

The displays are open for you to walk through at your pace while listening to music performances throughout the evening, from 7-12th grade Band and Choir students in small and large groups.

7th grade Choir will perform at 6:30-7 p.m., Sr. High Choir and ensembles will perform at 7:15-8 p.m. and full Band and quartet performances will be from 8 to 9 p.m.

Visual Arts: The artwork has been created by Frazee art students in grades K-12. Their art will be displayed in a gallery setting, allowing you to walk from the Kindergarten gallery through the senior art displays.

The gallery walk allows you to see the ongoing curriculum, showing various mediums in styles of historic and cultural reference as well as technical and creative exploration.

The mediums include drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, ceramics and fiber art.

Silent Auction: 12 Large Window Mosaics Twelve unique wood framed mosaics were created by each 3rd - 6th grade class during Mosaic Mania. The large windows will be auctioned off via silent auction, held during the festival.

This year's windows include the following images: Frazee Wrestling, Snowman & Evergreen, Holstein Cow and Farm, Birch Trees in Fall, Walleye, Butterflies, Dove and World Peace, Fireworks, Cardinal on a Branch, Dogs, Cats, Walleye and a Hot Air Balloon.
