Stayed sentence for domestic assault
Tony Allen Ahner, 37, of26528 112th NW, Zimmerman, Minn., has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony domestic assault.
On Jan. 17, a deputy responding to a 911 call talked to a woman with scrapes and bruises who said Ahner had pushed her down after an argument when she tried to leave the residence they had been staying at.
He then stood on the hood of her car to try to keep her from driving off, according to court records.
He was convicted of domestic abuse and violating a restraining order in 2006 in Sherburne County.
He pleaded guilty Jan. 17 and was sentenced Wednesday by District Judge Peter Irvine, who stayed imposition of sentence for five years. He was placed on supervised probation and ordered to serve 90 days in jail, with credit for 90 days already served.
He was fined $900 plus court fees and ordered to complete outpatient treatment, have no contact with the victim or her sister, and complete a domestic abuse treatment program as recommended by his probation officer.
