Former Alexandria resident Steven G. Caye, 64, of Detroit Lakes, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Essentia Health in Fargo.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11 in Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria, with visitation for one hour beforehand.
Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Alexandria.
Stephen G. Caye was born Gordon and Verona (Stadatherr) Caye on July 20, 1949 in Detroit Lakes.
He was raised and educated in Detroit Lakes and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1967. He served with the U. S. Air Force, doing a tour of duty in Vietnam.
Following his discharge, he moved to Alexandria, where he completed the Law Enforcement Training Program at the Alexandria Vo-Tech. He worked in St. Cloud and Jackson County, Minn., prior to returning to Alexandria, where he worked for the Alexandria Police Department and was a 19-year veteran of the Alexandria Fire Department. He retired in 1995 and moved back to Detroit Lakes.
Steve enjoyed shooting darts and being with family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Scott (Nicole) Caye and Tim (Lynne) Caye, both of Alexandria; a granddaughter, Lily; a sister, Mary Jo (Frank) Fahrendorff of Stillwater, Minn.; two brothers, Chuck (Joanne) Caye of Helena, Mont., and John (Roberta) Caye of Sartell.
