Stephen was born on December 2, 1949 to William and Cleone (Neuner) Seymour. He grew up in the Detroit Lakes/Cotton Lake area and graduated from Frazee Public High School in 1967. He then attended Minnesota State University Moorhead and graduated in 1973 with Bachelor of Science teaching degrees in psychology and biology.
In 1986 Stephen was given the presidential teaching award in science. He taught sciences in Gackle, N.D., until he retired in 2001, and moved back to his childhood home on Cotton Lake.
Stephen married the love of his life, Claudia Madison, in 1977. Together they had three children: Suzanna of Frazee, Rebecca (Aaron) VanderVorst of Grand Forks, N.D., and Victoria of Rochert.
Stephen loved life and lived it to the fullest every day. He taught everyone who knew him strength, courage, and how to love unconditionally. Stephen loved to cook, hunt, fish and spend time with his family and friends. The legacy of his life and love for the Lord serves as a model for his wife and children.
Stephen leaves behind his wife, daughters, a grandchild, and the many people he called friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, William and Cleone, and his stepbrother, William Seymour Jr.
