Storm causes flooding in tornado-ravaged Wadena
A storm with heavy downpours of rain has caused flooding in parts of Wadena, Minn., which is still recovering from an EF4 tornado on June 17. The city is dealing with flooded streets this morning.
Mayor Wayne Wolden explained the catch drains that funnel away storm water are plugged with debris from the storm, and the inch of rain that fell in a short period has been enough to overwhelm the system.
U.S. Highway 10 had a large, deep pool across it in the area of the Wadena County Fairgrounds, which were largely razed by the tornado.
