Street closures to begin early for this weekend’s Street Faire at the Lakes
The Street Faire at the Lakes is slated to take place this Friday and Saturday, May 30-31 in downtown Detroit Lakes.
In order to facilitate preparations for the event, street closures along Washington Avenue and Holmes Street will begin on Thursday afternoon.
Holmes Street from Washington to Lake Avenue will close at 3 p.m. for food vendor set-up, electrical hook-up and inspection.
At 6 p.m., closures for artist setup will begin on Washington Avenue from Highway 10 to Frazee Street, Front Street and Veteran’s Memorial Parkway from Lake Avenue to the alley behind Ace Hardware, and Holmes Street from Lake Avenue to the alley behind Goin’ Postal.
Street Faire artists, food vendors and free entertainment will be up and running Friday, May 30 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, May 31 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Valley News Live Team will have a public meet and greet on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the corner of Holmes Street and Washington Avenue.
The Eagles Street Dance, featuring a live performance by Silverado, begins at 8 p.m. Friday and continues through midnight on Holmes Street, in front of the Eagles Club.
