Strege completes combat training
Pvt. 1st Class Bennett M. Strege of Detroit Lakes has completed Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training for the North Dakota Army National Guard.
Strege attended Basic Combat Training for 10 weeks at Fort Jackson, S.C., graduating in August 2009. He then attended Advanced Individual Training which consisted of nine weeks of military occupational schooling at Fort Lee, Va., graduating Aug. 4.
Prior to his training, Strege was assigned to the Recruit Training Company in Fargo, which prepared him for his military training by learning basic combat and soldier tasks.
Since completion of training, Strege has been assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battery (HHB) 1-188th Air Defense Artillery (ADA) in Grand Forks, N.D., as a Food Service Specialist (92G).
Strege's parents are Michael Strege of Fargo and Denise Lyngaas of Detroit Lakes. Strege graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 2008 and currently attends North Dakota State University in Fargo.
