Students help send candy to troops
High school students from the Lake Park Audubon High School rallied together to collect treats for military troops on Halloween.
Under the organization of the local FCCLA (Family Career and Community Leaders of America) chapter, 50 students met for a pre-event meal and then formed into teams to divide and conquer their goal.
Going door-to-door, the students asked residents of the Lake Park city to donate Halloween treats to help fill care packages that will be shipped to our service people during the holiday season. Many of the care packages are being shipped to a Division sized at (10-15,000) troops in various countries serving the United States military.
The students collected just over 60 pounds of treats and cash donations. The LPA FCCLA chapter would like to thank the generous donations made from the Lake Park residents for this cause.
Seventh grade FCCLA members Angelica Ballard and Jayden Molacek are helping to support this project at a local level. The treats were delivered to Dr. Patrick Capp’s office in West Fargo to be added to the regional collection that will fulfill the “Operation Gratitude” project.
