Sun Gardens trip planned for July 12
Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to have a green thumb to be a good gardener.
Whether you’re planning a large, landscaped flower garden to relax in on summer days or you’d just like to try a few pots of tomatoes on your deck, all it takes is a little determination and a desire to learn.
If you’d like to learn a little about gardening or just enjoy strolling though beautiful gardens, you are invited to join the Lake Region Garden Club on an all-day bus trip to Dakota Sun Gardens & Winery in Carrington, N.D.
The bus leaves at 7 a.m., Saturday, July 12, and in addition to the winery, the club is also planning stops to tour the NDSU Research Center’s orchard plot and the Mayville Sculpture Gardens.
The cost of the trip is $46, which includes a catered lunch at the winery. If you’d like to bring your own bag lunch, the cost is $35.
Please contact Janis Schram at 847-6837 by July 7 to sign up for the trip.
The Lake Region Garden Club meets the third Thursday evening of every month. Some activities planned for the rest of the year are plant swap, speaker on trees and shrubs, bent willow trellis-making demonstration, garden photo contest and a tour of a Christmas tree farm.
