Look Good...Feel Better

Look Good...Feel Better is a support program for women with cancer. Volunteer, certified cosmotologists teach women make-up and skincare techniques. Women will also receive a free make-up kit. The Detroit Lakes class is held the fourth Monday of each month from 1-4 p.m. in the First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes. To register, call 1-800-227-2345.

Breastfeeding support group

Do you have any questions about breastfeeding or related issues? Do you want to "Connect" with other breastfeeding moms? Pregnant and curious about the benefits of breastfeeding? A breastfeeding support group meets the first and third Thursday of each month in the St. Mary's Innovis Health administrative conference room (across from gift shop). Stroke support group

Emmanuel Community hosts a stroke support group from 3 to 4:30 p.m. the second Thursday of each month. It is held in the Emmanuel Nursing Home conference room. Contact Barb Schiller, LSW, at 847-7162 for more information.

Over Eaters Anonymous

Overeaters Anonymous views compulsive eating as a physical, emotional and spiritual disease. Members seek recovery on all three levels by following a 12-step program patterned after that of Alcoholics Anonymous. OA is not affiliated with any public or private organization, political movement, ideology or religious doctrine. The regular meeting of OA in Detroit Lakes meets at the Emmanuel Community home in the executive board meeting room on Monday evenings at 7:15, and Wednesdays from 12:10-1:10 p.m. For more information, contact Lois at 218-983-3339 or Lori at 218-346-7978.

St. Mary's Diabetes

St. Mary's Innovis Health in cooperation with MeritCare hosts a monthly Diabetic Support Group. Questions about the Diabetic Support Group can be directed to Gen Keranen, RN, Certified Diabetic Educator at (218) 367-3548.

MS Support Group speaker

The Detroit Lakes MS Support Group is presenting a speaker who will address the issue of "starting your own business when you have a disability or chronic illness. Celebrate Recovery

Lakes Area Vineyard Church offers a Celebrate Recovery support group for people with hurts, habits and hang-ups. Come every Monday night for a barbecue at 6:30 p.m., followed by a time of worship and teaching at 7:15, small groups at 7:45 and refreshments and dessert at 8:45. Gastric Bypass support group

Set Free support group

Controlled by behaviors, attitudes or substances? Set Free is a biblically-based, Christ-centered program that meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the Berean Baptist Church library. Call 847-8914 for more information.

Emmanuel Alzheimer's support

Emmanuel Community's Alzheimer's Support Group meets the second Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m. in the Adult Day Care Room. A light supper is served, with the discussion following at 6. Contacts are Chaplain Vicki Marthaler at 844-7141 or Nurse Bobbi Jo Koons at 844-7148.

St. Mary's Alzheimer's group

St. Mary's Alzheimer's and Dementia Support Group meets the last Thursday of the month from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Winchester on Washington Avenue. This support group is open to anyone concerned about caring for someone affected with memory loss and in need of help or support. Lunch will be served.
