Authorities have identified the victims as Paul Russell Johnson, 32, and Rosemary Oberg-Johnson, 59, both of Grand Rapids. They were airlifted to a Duluth hospital and were listed in critical condition Sunday, police said.
A 26-year-old Bovey man is in custody in connection with the shooting, awaiting formal charges. Charges are expected to be filed on Monday.
Grand Rapids Police Chief Jim Denny said in a news release that officers were called to 516 10th Ave. NW at about 8:30 p.m. on a report of a shooting. That's near Blandin Beach on the city's west side.
