Swegarden accounts for 6 TDs in Raider win
For some teams, it takes two to three games to score six touchdowns, but for Lake Park-Audubon junior quarterback Mason Swegarden, it took one.
Swegarden accounted for a half a dozen touchdowns in the Raiders' 46-13 season-opening win over visiting Walker/Hackensack-Akeley Friday, with five of them coming by rushing.
The Raider quarterback also threw for 191 yards, including a touchdown, by going 8-11 in the game.
The Raiders accumulated a total of 457 total yards, with 266 coming on the ground. Sophomore Tim Brekken notched 113 yards rushing on 12 carries and added the other LP-A score.
Sophomore Jon Olson had a big game catching Swegarden passes, hauling in five for 130 yards.
Senior Anthony Fisher led the way defensively for the Raiders with eight tackles.
Senior W/H-A quarterback Devin Kickson had 45 yards rushing, while throwing for 156 yards, one TD and two interceptions.
The Raiders (1-0) will visit Fertile-Beltrami Friday, as the Falcons were a 46-30 winner over Blackduck in its season opener.
