Teen dies in rollover crash near Hawley

A young man has died from injuries suffered in a one-car rollover Saturday evening near Hawley.

Michael Livdahl, 19, was the driver of a passenger car that lost control, left the roadway and rolled into a ditch on the 21000 block of 28th Avenue North, a few miles north of Hawley.

He was ejected from the vehicle and was taken by air ambulance to Sanford Hospital in Fargo, where he later died, according to the Clay County Sheriff’s Department.

A passenger, Matt Schroeder, 20, was taken by ground ambulance to Sanford Hospital in Fargo.

Witnesses said the car was traveling at a very high rate of speed prior to the crash, which is under investigation. The accident occurred at about 8:30 p.m.
