Teenager charged in burglary at Seaberg's
Timothy Robert McArthur, 17, of 2352 240th Ave., Mahnomen has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony third-degree burglary.
According to court records, on May 9 a deputy was dispatched after an alarm went off at Seaberg's Yamaha just north of Detroit Lakes on Highway 59.
He observed entry had been made into an east storage building through a service door. There were two fresh muddy footprints on the outside of the door.
Shortly thereafter a state trooper noticed a motorcycle had been abandoned near Stoney Road, and at the junction of Stoney Road and Highway 59 he noticed a pickup truck parked with two young men in side.
After talking to the trooper, McArthur allegedly admitted being involved in the theft of the motorcycle -- a 2003 Pit Extreme Pro 110 that was in the shop to have a clutch cable repaired.
The plan, he said, was to steal the motorcycle so that the other man would have one.
On May 24, District Judge Joe Evans signed a petition setting McArthur's first court appearance for June 8.
