Thanks for Blanding Store memories
Thanks for the memories from your article on the Blanding Store in the July 8 Record.
My very first job fresh out of high school, the summer of 1969 was at Blanding's, and Dick and Henry were the nicest bosses an 18-year-old country girl could work for.
It was a great learning experience in retail and the kindness and patience shown to this "new-kid-on-the-block" by the grand ladies and gentlemen that worked there was special.
To name a few: Diana Engum in yard goods, Liz Cummings in the children's department and who can forget Morris Peterson in the shoe department.
The town has changed, buildings come and go, but memories last forever. -- Bonnie Bristlin Curfman, Detroit Lakes
