Thanks for DAV donations
Lakeland Chapter 31, Disabled American Veterans, would like to thank all the generous contributors, to our clothing and misc. items collection program this past year. Some donated leftover rummage sale items, some used our collection bins at the VFW and American Legion Clubs in Detroit Lakes and the bin at Orton's in Audubon, and some brought their donations directly to the semi trailer south across the street from Central Market.
We used the funds from the sale of these items and clothing to help many veterans, and families. Some went to the Fargo VA medical facility, some to the Fergus Falls veterans home, some helped veterans take special fishing and/or hunting trips that they would not have been physically able to without help, and some stayed right here in Becker county to help with the Patriot Assistance Dog program, helped in updating the Veterans shelter at
Dunton Locks and helped with the Veterans Memorial Park project.
Thank you again for your kind donations and help last year and a special thanks to BM Transport for the use and transport of the semi-trailer and Anglo American Oil Co. for space to park the trailer.
We thank you, and the veterans you helped thank you all. -- Neil Olson, Commander, Lakeland Chapter 31, Disabled American Veterans
