Theodore M. "Ted" Blauert, 71, of Frazee, died Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Essentia Health in Fargo.
Theodore Marvin Blauert was born to Theodore and Ann (Fredrich) Blauert on April 17, 1942 in Detroit Lakes. He grew up and attended school in Frazee, graduating from Frazee High School in 1960. He then worked on a construction crew, building bridges in South Dakota.
On November 22, 1963 he was united in marriage to Barbara J. Illg at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Evergreen. They made their home and raised their family in rural Frazee. Over the years Ted farmed, hauled turkeys for Swift Co., and drove a road grader and snowplow for Height of Land Township.
Ted served on the Height of Land Township Board for several years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and attending auction sales.
Surviving Ted are his wife Barbara; six daughters, Lori (Patrick) Stalberger of Callaway, Kim Blauert of Pelican Rapids, Brenda (Jerry) Lawrence of Detroit Lakes, Lisa (Ken) Swedberg of Ogema, Debra (Chris) Berg of Detroit Lakes and Becky Blauert of Fargo; four sons, Bruce Blauert of Frazee, Theo (Sarah) Blauert of Detroit Lakes, Randy Blauert of Detroit Lakes and Jamie Blauert of Frazee; 21 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; one sister, Connie (Denny) Oswald of Detroit Lakes; two nieces and one nephew.
Preceding Ted in death were his son, Scot Blauert and granddaughter, Ashley Moe.
Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Height of Land, rural Frazee, with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today (Sunday), with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service, at West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes.
