Thief River Falls man in serious condition after being struck by train
THIEF RIVER FALLS - A Thief River Falls man is in serious condition in the intensive care unit at Regions Hospital in St. Paul after being hit by a train early Sunday, hospital officials said today.
According to Thief River Falls Police, Delbert Ray Fineday, 21, was found at about 1:50 a.m. Sunday lying on the Canadian Pacific Railroad tracks within city limits. Investigators said Fineday had been run over by the train while trying to cross between rail cars.
Fineday was transported by ambulance to Merit Care in Thief River Falls, then airlifted to St. Paul.
Police have ruled out foul play.
