Thomas F. Lewis, 53, of Detroit Lakes, died Sun-day, December 26, 2010 at his home.
Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30 at David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, with Pastor Matt McKenzie officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Thomas Fredrick Lewis was born to Arlie W. and Delores (Blunehagen) Lewis on September 25, 1957 in Fargo. He at-tended Madison Elemen-tary school, Ben Franklin Junior High and Fargo North High School. While in high school, he worked loading trucks for Red Owl in Fargo and later for the Holiday Inn and for Industrial Builders.
Since February 1979, Tom had worked in the Ag Service Center at North Dakota State University. Tom was united in mar-riage to Joyce Hord on September 3, 1982 in Fargo. They moved to De-troit Lakes in 1988.
Tom enjoyed spending time with his family, espe-cially his grandkids; spending time at the lakes; fishing; hunting; farming; and with his rock lapidary. He was the rock and sounding board of the family.
Survivors include his wife Joyce, of Detroit Lakes; a daughter, Bon-nie (Matt) Johnson of Lake Park; two grand-children, Chase and Brianna Johnson; his mother, Delores Lewis of Fargo; a sister, Arlinda Lewis of Fargo; and two brothers, Tracy (Jean) Lewis of Kindred, N.D., and Jay Lewis of Horace, N.D.
Preceding him in death were his father; his mother- and father-in-law, Clarence and Borgie Hord; and several uncles.
