Thomas Jerome Stuverud, 64, died Sunday, June 8, 2014 at his home in Lake Park, from pancreatic cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014 in Cormorant Lutheran Church, 14314 County Highway 4, Lake Park, with Pastor Gary Van Hunnik officiating.

Tom Stuverud was born to T. Jerome and Dorothy M. (Kleinschmidt) Stuverud on January 20, 1950 in Fargo. He grew up in Moorhead, graduated from Moorhead High School in 1968 and attended Moorhead State University. After college Tom was employed with the Burlington Northern Railroad in Dilworth for 30 years.

On May 2, 1998 Tom was united in marriage to Janice (Lammers) Carr at Cormorant Lutheran Church and they established their home in the Lake Park area. Tom was a member of Cormorant Lutheran Church and served on the Building and Grounds Committee.

Tom enjoyed raising homing pigeons and received many awards for them. He loved spending time with his family at the lake cabin on Big Cormorant Lake for 56 years where he was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed hunting, training his hunting dogs, downhill skiing, golfing and playing pool with his family and friends.

Surviving Tom are his wife, Janice; two daughters, Jennifer Stuverud of St. Cloud and Alexis Carr of Lake Park; and sister Janet D. Stuverud (Robert Quenette) of Fargo.

Tom's parents, T. Jerome and Dorothy M. Stuverud, preceded him in death.
