Thompson to perform in honors concert
State winner in the Minnesota Music Teachers Association (MMTA) contest held at the Ferguson Hall, University of Minnesota, on March 14th was Marissa Thompson.
She is the daughter of Jenna and David Thompson of Audubon.
Marissa performed "Waterfall Jewels" by Janet Vogt in the Preliminary Division in the State competition.
On Saturday evening, May 30, Marissa will perform in an ensemble concert at the Northrop Auditorium, located on the University of Minnesota Campus.
This concert is a gala event involving 700 young performers playing on 20 grand pianos in seven different ensemble groups.
The annual concert is sponsored by MMTA to encourage high performance standards. Dr. John Froelich will be the conductor for the concert.
Marissa is a student of Audrey Savig, Audubon.
