Thousands of local college students turning out to fight the flood
FARGO - Nearly 1,700 students had reported to the North Dakota State University Memorial Union as of just after noon today to volunteer with the flood effort.
The biggest obstacle at both NDSU and Minnesota State University Moorhead was getting enough buses to transport the volunteers.
Shortly before 1 p.m., coordinators at the MSUM Nemzek Hall site arranged for school buses to provide additional transportation.
More than 1,000 have responded to the MSUM site, including students and community members.
But more volunteers are needed.
