Three arrested in rash of burglaries in Mahnomen, surrounding counties
BEMIDJI -- Three suspects have been arrested in connection with a rash of burglaries in Beltrami and surrounding counties.
According to officials, Clearwater County deputies responded to the scene of a burglary early Saturday. Witness described a Toyota Tundra leaving the scene, authorities said. Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office deputies later stopped the vehicle and arrested the suspects after several items, including a gun, from the Clearwater County burglary were found in the vehicle.
Arrested were Joshua James Martin, 29, of Walker; Jermey Jay Martin, 25, of Walker; and Jasmine Lee Bellcourt, 19, of Cass Lake, according to a press release from the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office. The trio are being held in the Clearwater County jail.
The Tundra also matched descriptions of a vehicle used in several earlier burglaries in Beltrami and Cass counties, authorities said.
Beltrami County investigators and Cass County deputies went to one of the suspect’s residence near Walker with a search warrant and recovered stolen items from several burglaries reported in Beltrami, Cass and Mahnomen counties.
Several guns, pickups full of stolen property, a stolen trailer and approximately one ounce of methamphetamine were seized from the suspect's house.
The suspects currently are in Clearwater County Jail on burglary charges while the cases also are being reviewed by the county attorneys in Beltrami, Cass and Mahnomen counties.
Victims of these burglaries will be contacted Monday by investigators to meet with investigators at the law enforcement center and recover their stolen property.
