Three injured in three separate accidents around Detroit Lakes
Three people were injured in three separate accidents around the Detroit Lakes area recently.
On Monday morning, approximately 8 a.m., the Minnesota State Patrol responded to an injury crash on Highway 34 near Becker County Road 125.
According to the patrol, while eastbound on Highway 34, a vehicle driven by Karen Harvala, 29, of Osage was attempting to pass two other vehicles that were proceeding in the same direction when one of those vehicles made a left turn onto a field approach.
Harvala attempted to avoid colliding with the turning vehicle, lost control and overturned. Harvala was wearing her seat belt and sustained very minor injuries.
This follows two other injury accidents in Detroit Lakes on Friday night.
Shortly after 4 p.m., the Minnesota State Patrol responded to a two-vehicle injury crash at Highway 10 and East Shore Drive, Detroit Lakes.
According to the patrol, a vehicle eastbound on Highway 10 driven by Debra Fink, 57, of Perham, collided with another vehicle attempting to cross Highway 10 from East Shore Drive.
The driver of that vehicle was Jennifer Gunderson, 40, of Detroit Lakes. Gunderson had three children in the vehicle and no occupants of that vehicle sustained any injuries. Fink was reported to have a non-life threating injury but was not transported by an ambulance.
Later that evening, at approximately 8:18 p.m., the Minnesota State Patrol responded to a vehicle versus bicycle crash at Highway 10 and Washington Avenue in Detroit Lakes.
The crash involved a vehicle driven by Hannah Bakke, 25, of Lake Park and a bicycle ridden by Debra Burcham, 48, of Detroit Lakes.
The injuries are believed to be non-life threatening and the crash remains under investigation.
