Three Waubun residents injured in broadside collision
Three Waubun residents were hurt in a broadside collision on Highway 59 north of Callaway Saturday morning.
The crash occurred about 7:35 a.m., when a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, westbound on County Road 14, pulled out in front of a 1995 Nissan Altima, which was southbound on Highway 59.
Kelley A. Lerud, 48, of Waubun was the driver of the Nissan. He suffered non life-threatening injuries, as did two passengers in his car: Natalie M. Lerud, 15 and Macey M. Lauinger, both of Waubun.
The driver of the Silverado, Christopher K. Breitenfeldt, 29, of Ogema, suffered no apparent injuries, according to the State Patrol.
The collision occurred on dry two-lane blacktop.
Assisting at the scene were the Becker County Sheriff's Office, White Earth Police Department and fire and rescue crews.
