Tim Sparks, Johnson Family Band are featured on 'Prairie Musicians'
Prairie Public Television will be showcasing some of the region's best musical artists this month with "Prairie Musicians," a collection of eight live concerts recorded in Prairie Public's downtown Fargo studio.
The series debuts this Friday, July 8, with performances by the Johnson Family Band at 8 p.m., and Frazee's own Tim Sparks at 8:30 p.m. The series continues with two performances each Friday night through the end of July.
Brenda Weiler and New York Mills' Elisa Korenne will be featured on July 15; Cotton Wood and Shadd Piehl on July 22; and the 8th Street String Quartet and Jazz Arts Group of Fargo-Moorhead will round out the series on July 29.
"Prairie Musicians" is one of several regional music and culture productions that Prairie Public has produced and broadcast in recent years. Others include "Prairie Artists," "Prairie Mosaic," "North Dakota Jazz," and the non-profit network's weekly community affairs program, "Prairie Pulse."
A complete list of Prairie Public productions is available on the station's website, and many are available for viewing there and on Youtube.
