Tractors to be on display July 29
"Plowing new ground" is something Frazee Turkey Days officials have done every so often. This year is no different.
From 9 a.m. until noon on Sunday, July 29, a collection of old tractors -- agriculture's workhorses from more than a half-century ago -- will be on display at the Swift Redevelopment Site on Main Avenue East near the Otter Tail River. Persons who want to display a machine, or even more than one, can contact John Dermody at 218-849-7441. There is no charge for exhibiting tractors nor is there any admission fee.
So far, John Deere and Farmall models lead the way, but it is expected that Allis-Chalmers, Minneapolis Moline, Ford, Oliver and others will be on hand this year, as well.
Some examples lined up for the initial "Tractor Tracks" were purchased new more than 50 years ago. One restored example dates from the 1930s. Some are still cultivating garden plots or doing other tasks on farmsteads.
