Trinity to host Rourke art
Trinity Lutheran Church Music & Arts Program is pleased to announce the solo artist exhibition of Bracken Rourke's work. Bracken uses tile to express himself.
For the month of November, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., and Sundays from 8 a.m. until noon, his works are available for viewing throughout Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 1401 Madison Avenue, here in Detroit Lakes.
His tile is found as wall hangings, in fireplaces, as countertops, table tops, backsplashes etc. Since 2000, he has been making, glazing and firing tile in his wood burning kiln on Cotton Lake and in his studio in Fargo. Bracken is the only custom tile producer in the Fargo-Moorhead and the Detroit Lakes area.
Rourke was born in Moorhead and grew up in the Fargo and Detroit Lakes area. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Concordia College, Moorhead, in 1989. In 2000, he started Cotton Lake Ceramics. While not traveling and exhibiting his work, Bracken spends much of his time in his studios in rural Detroit Lakes and Fargo.
Since 2001, Bracken has participated in four solo exhibitions and 11 group exhibitions. And, he has received numerous merit awards and a purchase award in 2002.
